This research identified the grammatical errors committed by second language learners of English (ESL). It was conducted on 28 Diploma ESL students. For their grammatical errors to be identified, samples of their written work under the genre of narrative writing were collected. Subsequently, the errors were recorded and classified based on types and forms of errors such as the wrong or inappropriate uses of Nouns, Verbs, Adjectives (Parts of Speech) and Tenses. In addition, this study provides useful information as well as the analysis and discussion on various errors which are commonly found in narrative writing.
